12 Days of Christmas Cheer
We’re unwrapping something special this festive season — our brand new 12 Days of Christmas Cheer! Each day brings a different reason to celebrate, from festive food and live music to cosy nights, local favourites, and plenty of sparkle.
There’s something for everyone to enjoy, so gather your friends, don your best Christmas jumper, and join us as we count down to Christmas in true Plough style!

Saturday 13th December
Enjoy a night of cabaret fun with free entry! Join our raffle, with all proceeds going to CHAS and Borders Children’s Charity — prizes gratefully received.
Sunday 14th December
Everyone’s welcome to join our afternoon music session, starting at 2pm — come along for a relaxed and fun musical gathering!
Monday 15th December
Step into the story and try your hand at solving our self-guided murder mystery! Available all day, it’s free for everyone and perfect for a fun, puzzling adventure at your own pace.
Tuesday 16th December
Share memories, festive cheer, and special moments as we celebrate and remember those we hold dear. A quiet, heartfelt way to connect during the festive season.
Wednesday 17th December
Join us for Grumpy’s Christmas Supper - a festive feast with plenty of cheer! New Grumps are especially encouraged to come along and join the fun.
Thursday 18th December
​Come along and hear the Scrieves writing group reveal their collaborative tale. All welcome to join, listen, and find out what this creative group is all about!
Friday 19th December
All welcome! Join us for Bingo and a Secret Santa exchange - bring a present (up to £5) on the night and take one home for a bit of festive fun and holiday cheer!
Saturday 20th December
Join us for a relaxed evening of social card games. Ticketed event with limited seats, so book early.
Monday 21st December
Join the Yetholm Book Club to hear enchanting stories and find out what the club is all about! Santa arrives at 6:30pm, too!
Tuesday 22nd December
Cosy games, mulled wine, and festive fun, All welcome! bring your competitive spirit and enjoy a warm winter’s night with friends!
Wednesday 23rd December
This Christmas Eve, Eve, Celebrate our locals with fun awards, and find out who’s made the Naughty or Nice List this year!
Thursday 24th December
A much-loved Plough tradition! . Full of friendly rivalry, laughter, and festive spirit. Winner takes the proceeds, as always!
Celebrate Hogmanay & New Year with Us!
Hogmanay is Scotland’s lively way of welcoming the New Year, a night of music, laughter, and festive cheer. One of the quirkiest traditions is first footing, where the first person to cross the threshold after midnight sets the tone for the year ahead. Traditionally, a tall, dark-haired visitor brings luck - who will be our lucky first foot this year?
Join us at The Plough Hotel’s Hogmanay Party to bring in 2026 in style. Don your tartan, raise a glass, and enjoy a night of music and fun.
Then, on New Year’s Day, continue the celebrations with our famous quiz, a cheerful way to start 2026 with friends and laughter.
