Located on the Main Street in Town Yetholm, this beautiful family and dog friendly country hotel brings you much more than the norm.
We boast a large whisky and gin collection, 2 hand pulls that feature real ales mainly from the local breweries including Born in the Borders, Alnwick Ales and Belhaven Brewery. Plus well known classics such as Old Speckled Hen and Ruddle’s. We also have a selection of wines and an array of soft drinks including mocktails. When dining with us, we offer the best in pub fare, with delicious bar snacks also available.
We have five letting bedrooms that have been tastefully decorated and aptly named in the gypsy language. Whether you are walking or relaxing a restful stay will be had at the Plough Hotel.
We love a friendly and lively atmosphere and we do our best to keep it that way! We offer a wide variety of themed nights throughout the year. We host a fortnightly quiz night during the winter months on Wednesday evenings and regularly organise charity fundraisers. Plus on Fridays and Saturdays, we are open until 1am.
We are proud participants in the Borders Best Bar None scheme - having entered in 2017 we have won gold every year since.
We have a large beer garden which includes a ping pong table and a children’s sandpit. Only one question remains – are you here yet?

GET TO KNOW US
Mother and daughter team, Sandi and Zoe Keddie bought The Plough Hotel in January 2014.

On her return in 2013 she and Zoe decided the Plough was the logical next challenge in the hospitality industry and have set themselves the target of running the best local pub in The Scottish Borders.
The hospitality industry took a battering when the Covid 19 pandemic stole the world as we knew it in the year 2020.
Fast forward to 2022 and there is change at The Plough Hotel, Zoe is pursing her dream of becoming an actress and is now studying in Edinburgh, Zoe's son Mark-Antony is enjoying a weekend waiting shift and Sandi is enjoying taking a back seat as they are proud to introduce their new manager Lynsey Morrison.
Lynsey is a true Yetholm lass and has a wealth of experience. Lynsey brings with her, her daughter Alex who is a budding chef. Lynsey has big goals for The Plough Hotel, It brings great excitement to us all.
